Accounting for Nature® Standard.
The Accounting for Nature® Framework sets out the first globally consistent Standard for measuring, certifying and communicating changes in the condition of environmental assets of native vegetation, soils, fauna, freshwater and marine ecosystems.
The Accounting for Nature® Standard sets the rules for the certification of Environmental Accounts and provides users with information on how to earn the right to use our highly regarded Certification Trustmark.

Rules.
Audit Rules.
The Audit Rules provide the rules and procedures that govern the preparation of audit reports under the Framework, and who may be listed as an Accounting for Nature® Accredited Auditor.
Expert Rules.
The Expert Rules provide the rules and procedures that govern the Accreditation of Experts under the Framework.
Claims Rules.
The Claims Rules contain the rules and procedures that govern the types of claims that can be made by users with Certified Environmental Accounts.
Method Rules.
The Method Rules provide the rules and procedures that govern the development of Methods for Accreditation s under the Framework.

These Guidelines have been developed to help users undertake a materiality assessment which will assist with identifying and prioritising what assets and locations should be included in an Environmental Account, given key considerations from a business/financial perspective, but also a stakeholder, society, and environmental perspective.

An option has been developed for landholders to include a Production Condition Index, called a Pcond, alongside the Econd in Soil Condition Accounts. This paper provides guidance for the inclusion of a Pcond in an Environmental Account.

These guidelines have been developed to assist in the development of Methods to assess the Condition of Native Vegetation. The guidelines discuss the various approaches that can be taken and explore what types of indicators could be included in a Native Vegetation Method.

These provisional guidelines have been developed to assist in the development of Methods that use bird presence/absence surveys to produce Environmental Accounts.

The Accounting for Nature® Complaints Process provides a procedure for managing and resolving Complaints regarding the Accounting for Nature® Framework.
Guidelines & Processes.
Guidelines are explanatory documents that aim to help users and Method Developers understand core concepts of the Accounting for Nature® Framework. These guidelines go into detail on why the concepts are important, how they work, and also provide contextual examples. Guidelines have also been developed to help guide Method development for specific asset classes. They highlight key considerations that should be taken into account when developing a Method, and provide recommendations on how to deal with certain asset-specific challenges.
All guidelines are living documents that are reviewed and updated as required.
Programs.
Program Rules outlines the specific criteria to participate in Programs that are supported by the Accounting for Nature® Framework.

Environmental Accounts are developed using the network of Accounting for Nature® Accredited Experts. Accredited Auditors are experienced auditors who have the skills to audit and verify the rigour and accuracy of certified Environmental Accounts. Supported by the Accredited Expert network, Accredited Trainers are highly experienced professionals in environmental accounting who have undertken additional training on how to deliver educational material on the Accounting for Nature® Framework. CarbonPlus™ is a new program that brings a high degree of standardisation and transparency to the measurement and reporting of environmental condition and co-benefits in carbon projects. CarbonPlus™ supports carbon project developers, investors and buyers to go beyond carbon by giving them the tools to robustly quantify and report nature measurement alongside Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs). The NaturePlus® Standard offers a ready-to-use credit issuance framework for nature and biodiversity project developers. This allows Account Holders to access environmental markets without the need to develop their own issuance standards, ensuring fast and reliable access to nature credits. Methods.
Methods contain detailed measurement, reporting and verification requirements for specific environmental assets (e.g. soils, native vegetation, fauna). Methods may be developed by anyone, but must be accredited by the Science Accreditation Committee.
