CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

has more than 20 years experience (private and public sectors) in managing businesses and providing advice and training centered on environmental markets and natural capital in Australia and internationally. He is a former Australian Government Greenhouse & Energy Auditor who holds a Bachelor of Business, Post Graduate Certificate in Energy Economics and a PhD in Environmental Finance. He is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

CHIEF SCIENTIST

is the former Queensland Chief Scientist and is best known for his work in conservation biology, applied ecology, and basic ecology theory including population ecology. He is also a Professor of Mathematics, Professor of Zoology and an ARC Laureate Fellow in the Department of Mathematics and the School of Biological Sciences at The University of Queensland.

CHIEF MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

has more than 25 years experience in marketing and communications, across private and public sector. Specialising in brand management, advertising, digital communications and digital transformation. She has a special interest in environmental and social communications with experience in carbon market, waste behaviour change and environmental education communications. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Screen Communications with a major in marketing.

SENIOR MANAGER - ENVIRONMENTAL MARKETS & POLICY

has more than 12 years experience in environmental research, natural resource management and the creation and delivery of educational material. She holds a Batchelor of Science (geology and climatology), a Master in Environmental Management, and a PhD in alpine forest ecology. Amanda has project management experience in both the private and public sector and has provided consultancy services on national emission reduction projects.

SCIENCE AND TECHNICAL LEAD - EUROPE

Edward is a conservation biologist, with over 25-years’ experience of protected areas management, and integrating biodiversity within corporate decision making. He worked in Southeast Asia for nearly fifteen years supporting the management of protected areas, and natural forest concessions. Edward is also a Director of the UK Business and Biodiversity Forum CIC, and on the board of Business for Biodiversity Ireland. In his free time Edward volunteers with conservation initiatives around Cambridge, UK.

MANAGER - SCIENCE & METHODS

Elise is an ecologist with over six years’ experience coordinating ecological research projects to understand how ecosystems respond to disturbances. She has technical skills in GIS and statistical analysis, and is interested in using new technologies and big data to support conservation and land management decisions. Elise holds a PhD in Ecology, an Honours degree in Environmental Science, and a Bachelor of Environmental Biology.

SENIOR MANAGER - SCIENCE & METHODS

is an ecologist with over 10 years experience in environmental research, local government, and private consulting. She has broad interests in ecology, GIS, and economics and holds a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Plant Science and a Master of Environmental Management in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics.

MANAGER – CERTIFICATIONS

joined Accounting for Nature during his undergraduate studies at the University of Queensland, where he was recognised on the Dean’s Honour Roll for academic excellence. He holds a dual Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Economics, majoring in Geographical Sciences, GIS, and Public Policy. He brings strong technical expertise in geospatial analysis, environmental data management, and policy design.

TECHNICAL OFFICER - ENVIRONMENTAL MARKETS & POLICY

is passionate about helping businesses understand their reciprocal relationship with nature to create better environmental outcomes and progressive business solutions. Her experience crosses the realms of carbon and nature markets and policy, green investment mechanisms, and strategy creation.

She holds a Bachelor of Environmental Management with Honours and is currently undertaking a PhD exploring how organisations understand nature and incorporate it into their decision making. Her current work and research aid the sustainability endeavours of various industry, government, academic, and NGO partners.  

OFFICER - CERTIFICATIONS

Brings a global perspective shaped by her upbringing in Kenya, where wildlife volunteering sparked her interest in conservation. She began her academic journey with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Marine Biology and is now completing a Master of Environmental Management at UQ. She has been recognised through academic achievements, including the Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence, and has experience across conservation policy, natural resource management, and ESG reporting. She has an interest in how science backed approaches can support healthier and more resilient ecosystems. 

OFFICER - TECHNOLOGY

joined Accounting for Nature after completing an undergraduate degree in Science and is now pursuing a Master's in Geospatial Science. With a farming background and a strong passion for environmental sustainability, Harry has developed a keen interest in leveraging technology, particularly GIS implementation, to support a sustainable future.

OFFICER - EXPERTS & PROGRAMS

is currently completing a Master of Environmental Management at The University of Queensland. She is passionate about the intersection of finance and environmental management, particularly how environmental accounting can improve investment decisions and direct capital towards genuine environmental outcomes. Her interests include corporate sustainability, sustainability reporting and biodiversity conservation. Before pivoting to environmental management, Manu spent four years working in financial analysis and audit in Dubai. She also holds a BA (Econ) in Finance (Hons) and an MSc in Business Analytics & Strategic Management from the University of Manchester, as well as a Certificate in ESG Investing from the CFA Institute.
