Accounting for Nature operates as a not-for-profit (NFP) organisation, and our fees are structured to cover the cost of delivering independent, science-based environmental accounting standard management and not to generate profit. This approach ensures that all participants benefit from a robust, transparent, and high-quality Framework.

Fee Schedule

Fee updates effective 1 March 2026.

Accounting for Nature periodically reviews its fees to ensure they continue to reflect the cost of delivering independent, high-quality services under the Framework.

Updated fees will take effect from 1 March 2026.

  • The current Fee Schedule remains valid for invoicing up to and including 28 February 2026

  • All invoices issued from 1 March 2026 will be based on the updated Fee Schedule

  • Applications or submissions received prior to 1 March 2026 will be invoiced in line with the current schedule, unless otherwise advised

What the fees cover.

Fees contribute to the independent systems and expert processes that underpin the Accounting for Nature® Framework, including:

  • Scientific and technical review of Environmental Accounts and Methods

  • Independent assurance and governance

  • Registry operation and maintenance

  • Ongoing Framework development and updates

  • Support services for Account Holders, Experts, and Method Authors

Who the fees apply to.

Our fees vary depending on your level of engagement with the Framework, the size and type of your organisation and your role. They generally cover:

Environmental Accounts

  • Registration of Environmental Accounts and Asset Accounts

  • Certification and re-certification

  • Annual account maintenance

Methods

  • Submission and independent assessment of Methods

  • Accreditation and listing

  • Ongoing Method maintenance and updates

Accredited Experts and Auditors

  • Application and assessment

  • Accreditation and renewal

  • Ongoing professional development

Accredited Training Providers and capability building

  • Application and assessment

  • Core and advanced training programs

  • Updates and revisions to existing courses
