To ensure the Accounting for Nature® Framework incorporates the latest scientific and technical developments, we work with Technical Advisors comprising several world-leading experts in their fields. We engage Technical Advisors as needed to advise on key areas of environmental science, law, finance, climate change and indigenous knowledge.

Ilona Millar

Dr Katharina Bryan, LLM

Dr Katharina Bryan is a senior sustainability policy advisor with 20 years of experience at the intersection of international organisations, governments, and global business.Her career combines public-and private-sector sustainability management, reporting and audit. Katharina has a passion for policy and standards that incentivise resilience, competitiveness and deliver better outcomes for people and planet. She advises Accounting for Nature on UK and EU Policy developments and engagements. She is also Senior Policy Advisor to GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), founder of Resilience² and supports organisations in building resilience by integrating sustainability into strategy, engagement and reporting. She has been the Head of International Sustainability Reporting Policy at Amazon, advising and engaging on global sustainability standards and nature policy. Before that, she spent 13 years at the European Court of Auditors (the EU’s external audit institution), including in leadership positions. She holds a doctorate in Economic andSocial Sciences, a Master of European Law and a Master in International Business Relations.

Ilona Millar

has worked for the last 20 years on climate law and finance, including the development of law and policy and its implementation by both governments and the private sector.

Prof Martine Maron

is Professor of Environmental Management at The University of Queensland. Her group works on the challenge of building effective policy and management for conservation, especially in contested landscapes.

Nadia Campbell

is a former board member of Accounting for Nature and is the Director of Goondicum Pastoral Co. She has worked as a lawyer in private practice, for government owned corporations and as in-house legal counsel for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. She is also a Director of the Pacific Whale Foundation (Aust); a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an active member of Australian Animal Care & Education Inc. where she undertakes continual education on Australian Wildlife. Nadia holds a Bachelor of Law (Hons) and a Bachelor of Commerce.

Martine Maron

Esther Netshivhongweni

spent 13 years in community development both in Africa and internationally including capacity building and facilitating sustainable projects. She worked in both private and government sector. She is one of the founding members and the Chair of the International Environment Guardianship (IEG), the organisation which represent 7 socio-cultural regions of the globe focus on the rights of nature, rights of Indigenous Peoples, Local Communities and Afro-Descendants.

She was the Council member of the South African National Heritage. She is a Task Force member of Biodiversity Credit Alliance (BCA) representing IEG. She is a post-graduate of University of Venda and University of South Africa – School of Business Leadership, who holds Bachelor of Commerce, Honours Bachelor of Commerce, Master’s degree in Commerce and; Post-graduate Professional Management and Advance Professional Management Diplomas. Esther studied International Finance in Singapore with Singapore Institute of Banking and Finance.
