About the Environmental Account.
Located on the eastern side of Krambach Mountain near the NSW coast, this Environmental Account covers a 27 ha section of a 125 ha family-owned beef cattle farm. The broader property includes over 30 ha of old growth or established native forest and supports an active koala population, situating it within a landscape of genuine conservation significance. The property sits on the traditional lands of the Biripi people.
The Asset Account area covers a section of degraded hillside pasture that was cleared of native flora in the late 1800s and used continuously for grazing since. In recent years the area became heavily dominated by invasive species including Lantana, wild tobacco bush, and crofton weed. In 2025 the area was permanently fenced off from cattle and an active program of weed removal and native replanting commenced, associated with an approved Living Carbon project under the CER Environmental Plantings Pilot Method.
The Environmental Account area includes both the active planting zone and sections of lower quality native regrowth, which will be infill-planted with long-lived canopy species such as local Eucalyptus and Corymbia to improve biodiversity and increase carbon sequestration. Together, these activities aim to restore native flora, enhance habitat connectivity, and demonstrate measurable environmental improvement over time.
