About the Environmental Account.
The Norbrook Natural Capital Account is situated along the Kolan River on a 514 ha property characterised by varied hills and lowlands. Historically cleared for horticulture, cropping, and grazing, the land has been significantly transformed since M-Nut's acquisition in 2022. It now operates as a commercial macadamia orchard, with 199 ha dedicated to active conservation and enhancing its natural capital value.
This area includes Eucalyptus woodlands, featuring endangered ecosystems like E. tereticornis and Corymbia intermedia, as well as Notophyll and mesophyll vine forests. Some previously cleared areas are undergoing ecological succession, currently dominated by pioneer Acacia species and introduced pasture.
Targeted land management, including fire management, weed control and restoration activities, are being implemented to improve the health of these ecosystems and enhance wildlife habitat. Future management decisions will be guided by the results of this environmental account.
