Malabar Environmental Planting is a project scale account utilising the AfN-METHOD-V-06 vegetation method on Malabar Station, located within the Riverina region of New South Wales. The property, which is 1,801 ha, contains 19.4ha pegged for planting which is the focus and boundary of the Environmental Account. It is intended to provide many co-benefits including creating shelterbelts for livestock, wildlife corridors that enhance native biodiversity and erosion control.
Malabar Station is a mixed farming operation focusing on producing lamb, wool, beef and crops. Representing a diversified agricultural enterprise that balances livestock and cropping activities. This integrated approach combines sheep production for both meat and fiber, cattle raising for beef production, and the cultivation of various grain or fodder crops.
The project is registered with the Australian Government’s Clean Energy Regulator.
