About the account.
Located on Bundjalung Country, Boorabee Farm is in the Tweed Shire on the NSW north coast. For decades, the 73-hectare (ha) property has been managed as a cattle and banana growing enterprise before its acquisition by the Account Holder in 2022. Forest types across the property are diverse and consist of eucalypt, wet scherophyll and rainforest communities displaying varied levels of degradation (from remnant through to completely cleared) due to historical agricultural activities.
Boorabee Farm is now being managed principally for conservation and cattle grazing. The primary goal for the landholders is to undertake activities and projects that improve and enhance the highly valuable environmental assets and natural capital of the property. Past clearing and agricultural land use is being discontinued in two locations (labelled east and west), which are being revegetated. This will help to ensure the region’s special and unique flora and fauna – which remain highly threatened in the landscape – can have a safe place to live and thrive into the future.
Koalas are one such highly threatened species, and this region provides large areas of core habitat. Since 2022, the landholder has witnessed evidence of koalas on Boorabee Farm within the remnant vegetation.
In an initial step to ensure long-term protection of the habitat and support ongoing landscape restoration efforts, an environmental planting has been registered as an eligible carbon offsets project under the Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) Scheme. The first planting of 7ha occurred between March-June 2025 with a further 3ha being planted in October 2025. This provides conservation of existing habitat, and the opportunity to strategically enhance the ecological condition of the land and transition to resilient forests. With the goal to provide a high-quality sanctuary for the endangered koalas, primary food and habitat trees will be strategically added over time.

About the Account Holder.
The Account Holder, Tanya Pritchard, is the landholder of the property. The landholder is managing the property as for mixed use for living, cattle and conservation purposes simultaneously. Past clearing and agricultural land use is being discontinued in two locations (labelled east and west), which are being revegetated. This revegetation will be registered for Australian Carbon Credit unit trading. The aim for the account is to document the shift in Koala Econd® as restoration progresses.
