About the account.
This Environmental Account is being prepared at a property scale, with Wirra being one of two properties owned and managed by the Proponent. The intended purpose of this Environmental Account is to understand and scientifically communicate the productive and environmental condition of Wirra and track the effectiveness of management actions over time. The process, and results of this Account will be delivered to the Barfield Road Producer Group and the broader community through a peer-to-peer learning approach. It is hoped it will serve as a foundation for others to take-up environmental condition certification in our Central Queensland region.

About Wirra Pastoral Co.
We are a beef breeding and backgrounding enterprise spanning 3,000 ha over two separate central Queensland properties. This project is being conducted on our Banana block, ‘Wirra’, where we background 350 Live Stock Unit (LSU) of beef cattle on 730ha. Since implementing our time-controlled grazing system in 2020, we have noticed marked increases in groundcover, biodiversity and soil health and wish to document the results in a scientifically valid and verifiable way.
