About the Environmental Account.
The Lungtalanana Native Fauna Restoration Project is a First Nations led project focused on restoring the ecological health and cultural heritage on Lungtalanana (Clarke Island) in the Furneaux Group of Tasmania. The environmental account will utilise the Generalised Camera Trapping Method (F-07) to track a target group of medium to large ground dwelling mammals, in the context of feral cat population control and the subsequent reintroduction of culturally significant native fauna.

Since 2005, TAC’s Pakana Rangers have been working to heal Lungtalanana by removing invasive species, applying cultural fire, restoring native habitats, and preparing for the return of animals that once lived there.
