About the account.

Gilgal Grazing Pty Ltd oversees the operations on the Gilgal property, near Cootamundra, on the NSW South Western Slopes. Gilgal was purchased in late 2023 by the Account Holder and is undergoing a transition from mixed farming to a grazing-based enterprise. Grazing is closely managed on the property, with high intensity grazing for short periods of time, followed by long recovery periods. Ecological monitoring is undertaken to track the improvement in ecological condition on the property, and to inform the grazing planning. Impact Ag Australia is the operating partner for the property, which includes running the natural capital projects as part of farm operations.

The area under the Environmental Account is a 197-hectare White Box-Yellow Box-Blakely's Red Gum Grassy Woodland revegetation project, supported through the NSW Government Living Carbon Program. The planting is registered with the Australian Government’s Clean Energy Regulator under the Environmental Plantings Pilot 2014 ACCU Scheme method.

The account will be used to track changes in environmental condition, as the planting is established. This will assist in guiding the land managers’ decision-making regarding the management of the vegetation, including but not limited to the maintenance of canopy cover.

About Gilgal Grazing.

Gilgal Grazing oversees the operations on the Gilgal property, near Cootamundra, on the NSW South Western Slopes. Gilgal was purchased in late 2023 by the Account Holder, and is undergoing a transition from mixed farming to grazing. Grazing is closely managed on the property, with high intensity grazing for short periods of time, followed by long recovery periods. Ecological monitoring is undertaken to track the improvement in ecological condition on the property, and to inform the grazing planning. There is an active soil carbon project on the property, registered in 2024, which aims to increase the soil carbon levels through changes in grazing management. The area under the Environmental Account is an environmental planting project, and the account will be used to track improvements in environmental condition, as the planting is established.

Under contract with the Asset Manager, Impact Ag Australia, acts as the operating partner for Gill Grazing, and is responsible for managing the environmental plantings project.
